Jackassing Around

As your guide to all that is awesome in Kansas City every week, we sometimes have to protect you from yourselves. This occasionally means not telling you what really happens at a show because it’s more fun if you just go and be surprised. Such is the case with the Donkey Show, which occurs randomly throughout the year with different themes in different places. Allow us to whet your appetite: You might see fire-eaters, a Bugs Bunny cartoon re-enacted in German, or a stirring explanation of quantum theory as it relates to the mating habits of humpback whales. Then again, you might not see any of that, but the point is expecting the unexpected. Experience the Donkey Show for yourself at Crosstown Station (1522 McGee, 816-471-1522). What’s certain: a “Donkey in Wonderland” theme and performances by such local bands as Softee, the Monitor and Monta at Odds. Entrance costs $10 ($8 if you dress in an Alice in Wonderland-related costume).
