IT’S A TRAP!
If you’re anything like us, you’re disappointed to learn that billionaire George Lucas didn’t spring for any bulbous Cantina Band masks for the members of the orchestra and choir playing tonight’s Star Wars In Concert performance at the Sprint Center (1407 Grand). However, unlike the Star Wars tribute “Pops” concerts mounted by local symphonies, this performance of composer John Williams’ original scores is accompanied by a screening of scenes from the Star Wars films on a three-story-high LED display, plus live narration by Anthony Daniels, who portrayed British robot C-3P0. There’s also an exhibit of Star Wars props and memorabilia that includes weapons, helmets and — superfans take note — the full Jedi costumes for Kit Fisto and Plo Koon. That’s right — Kit Fisto! And Plo Koon! Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. performance cost $35, $55 or $75; see sprintcenter.com or call 816-949-7177.
