Intercontinental Cuisine

Parkville’s Café Cedar (2 East Second Street) may be the only restaurant in the metro that serves both Middle Eastern fare and all-American fried chicken. But tonight, owner Jehad Saleh adds the cuisine of many more regions when he lays out a lavish buffet for Café Cedar’s first International Feast and Wine Tasting to benefit Synergy Services. Beginning at 5 p.m., Saleh and his staff will serve a variety of domestic and imported wines — “Lots of very good wines,” says spokewoman Michelle Stoller — and tastings of Mediterranean, Indian, Greek, Italian, Asian and other international dishes. “And American, of course, and a selection of decadent desserts,” Stoller adds. The festivities include jazz music from the Mike Ning and Victor Perelmuter Band, a silent auction of gifts and services from Parkville merchants, and a performance by a professional belly dancer. Tickets cost $60; make reservations by calling 816-505-2233. See cafecedar.com for more information.
