Incoming: Thursday at the Granada, October 2

Thursday has been on five labels in the past 10 years. Eyeball, then Victory, then Island, then back to Victory for a live album, then to Temporary Residence for a split EP with Envy, and now they’re on Epitaph. Ridiculous

They still sell records, though, and they still draw. They’re using The Fall of Troy as main support for their tour this fall, playing twenty-nine shows over a five-week period.

The Fall of Troy are touring in support of their upcoming album, In the Unlikely Event, due out October 6 on Equal Vision. Thursday is still playing in support of their release on Epitaph, Common Existence. Also on the show are La Dispute and Young Widows.

This show will be heavy on kids with dyed black hair, studded belts, guys in girl pants, and I’m sure both bands will scream a lot in between quietly crooned parts. As a matter of fact, every single song is going to sound like Brian Posehn’s “Metal By Numbers.” Listen to “Metal By Numbers” below, then listen to the other songs. Tell me I’m not insane.

MP3: Brian Posehn, “Metal By Numbers”

MP3: The Fall of Troy, “Cut Down All the Trees”

MP3: Thursday, “Cross Out the Eyes”
