Incoming: The Lonely H at Jerry’s Bait Shop, June 28

The Lonely H hail from Seattle and feature a frontman who’s about as tall as Chewbacca. Drawing from a diverse array of influences, they manage to sound like an amalgamation of every classic rock band you’ve ever heard. There’s some Allman Brothers jam in there, a little of Ronnie Van Zant’s drawl, some Blue Oyster Cult cowbell—like I said, a little of everything. Still, their sound comes about in a manner that’s refreshing and comfortable.
You almost have to liken the Lonely H to a new pair of Chuck Taylor All-Stars. Those Chucks are going to feel brand new and look shiny, but they’re going to feel exactly like the last dozen pairs you’ve owned after a day or two. The Lonely H is the same way. You’ve never heard them before, but after two or three songs, it’s like you’ve been hearing these songs all your life. It’s even more impressive when you find out that three of the four members are under 21.
They play at Jerry’s Bait Shop in Lenexa on Sunday, June 28. It’s one of the first dates on a two-moth long tour in support of their new album Concrete Class on The Control Group.
