Incoming: the Black Eyed Peas at the Sprint Center, March 24

Ridiculously popular pop group the Black Eyed Peas roll into town this spring, performing at the Sprint Center on March 24. The group is amazingly polarizing, with people falling either on the “They’re fucking awesome!” or “Kill me — kill me now” ends of the spectrum, with little in-between to be had. Stupid damned catchy songs — seriously, I cannot stand the group, but Will.i.am knows how to make songs that work into your brain like a goddamned Babel fish.

Suffice it to say, the band is just about one of the biggest things in music right now. When you figure it was either “Boom Boom Pow” or “I Gotta Feeling” holding the number one position on the charts for a full half of the year, this is probably a show that’s going to be what they refer to as a “big deal.”
