Incoming: Camera Obscura at the Bottleneck, April 7

It’s rare that bands from across the pond make their way to our neck of the woods, so the fact that Glasgow, Scotland’s Camera Obscura plays the Bottleneck on April 7 is something of note.

Their indie-pop is slow and relaxed, although it manages to get rollicking and upbeat at times. In other words, the recurring comparisons to fellow Glaswegians Belle & Sebastian isn’t unwarranted. As far as comparisons go, however, one could get worse.

The band is touring support of last year’s My Maudlin Career on 4AD. Openers for the Bottleneck show have yet to be announced.
