If You Were A Bird: New Work by Nora Goddard

From the artist’s staement: I collect stories, and remnants of things; objects infused with a sacred history.
In these mythical portraits of animals, I see the passing of a life, and of slower time; the brief and continual convergence of chaos. Carnivores and scavengers such as the wolf, coyote, buffalo and raven are now ghosts of ghosts. Civilization has infused us with the desire to moralize, domesticate, and romanticize. What we exterminate in the outside world, we also eradicate in ourselves.
