the Cash for Clunkers program. Turns out that with so many people trading in their shitboxes, the demand for production of the Ford Escape and Ford Focus has exploded, meaning Ford will produce about 33 percent more vehicles in this year’s fourth quarter than in the same quarter last year.
And those Escapes are getting put together in Kansas City. I’m no economist, but I’m guessing more demand for workers means better job security in a company that didn’t have a terribly bright outlook not too long ago.
