Hey mom I love you!
I do love my mother, though she’s a terrible cook. Even she admits it. I became interested in food at a very young age because she actively encouraged my brothers and I to make our own meals so she wouldn’t have to.
Maybe it was just smart long-term thinking on her part, because now that we’re grown up, my brothers and I always prepare a feast for her (and for us, too!) on Mother’s Day. This year is no different. It’s our tasty little way of saying “We love you mom” because we do.
Another way to celebrate is with a delicious brunch and there are several around town this Sunday.
When I printed this list in dining newsletter Pitch Forks on Tuesday, all of the following still had room available. Now all bets are off. But if your mother asks nicely, maybe some places will accommodate her.
