He’s Guano Love You

Bat Boy: the Musical is not the song-and-dance telling of Bruce Wayne’s only son. The shocking story of love, acceptance and interspecies group sex is actually ripped from the headlines of a hard-hitting newspaper. Weekly World News first started running its accounts of the child raised by bats in 1992. Since then, Bat Boy reportedly has led a rich and reckless life, endorsing Al Gore for president, biting Santa Claus and fighting the war on terror. The musical doesn’t quite follow the stories of the since-folded tabloid. In this story, Edgar the Bat Boy is brought into civilization, with hilarious and nearly Oedipal results. Tonight at 7:30, come see the Off Broadway cult classic in beautiful downtown Mission at the Barn Players (6219 Martway). The cast features some familiar faces, including the lovely Stasha Case, last seen in the Unicorn’s smash La Cage Aux Folles. Regular admission costs $12, but there are discounts for seniors, students and groups. The show runs through November 11. Call 913-432-9100 or see Barn Players .
