Have some of those Ticketmaster vouchers? Good luck using them
Ticketmaster recently settled a class-action lawsuit by offering a staggering 50 million of its users ticket vouchers. This was due to its long-established habit of “excessive and deceptive” service fees. Well, the unsurprising news is that Ticketmaster is still not your friend and is still a greedy monster. Kansas City, these vouchers will not work for you.
Should you find that you have vouchers in your account, as we do, you may have seen the list of eligible shows for voucher redemption. Because the greedy monster cannot abide by padding other peoples’ pockets, the only places where your vouchers are good are Live Nation-owned venues (Live Nation being the parent company of Ticketmaster). The closest Live Nation venue to Kansas City is the Hollywood Casino Amphitheater in St. Louis, and there are only two shows available: The Outcry Tour (there is not an explanation for what this is) and Fifth Harmony, which is a girl group that was created on a reality show that apparently is still on the air.
If you are willing to travel to New York, Texas, Georgia or Florida to redeem your worthless vouchers, you can go see quality shows including: a Tom Petty Tribute Band, an INXS tribute band, and a Bon Jovi tribute band.
So, thanks, greedy monster. We knew we could count on you to keep being you.
