Happy-Hour Concert

The cool thing about office holiday parties: free booze. The downside: Guzzle too much and you might end up making out with your boss. Yet, the concept of a festive social gathering remains appealing. And there’s an added thrill when it happens in an office building. That’s the setting for the KKFI Live Music Holiday Party. The eight-act jam gets going at the convenient, just-clocked-out-for-the-long-weekend hour of 6 p.m., in a room just down the hall from the radio station’s midtown studio. Riverrock, Bob Walkenhorst, Cow Town Cajuns, Jason Vivone and other awesome local musicians throw down while revelers enjoy adult beverages and other refreshments. Each performer is slated to play a few songs for everyone who can’t make the party — over the 90.1 airwaves. The station’s office is on the second floor of 3901 Main. Enter the building from the east parking lot. The jam lasts until 9 p.m. Tickets cost $10 in advance or $15 at the door. Reserve at kkfi.org or call 816-994-7869.— Crystal K. Wiebe
