Guy proposing at KCI unknowingly pops the question on live TV

When you work in journalism, sometimes a good story falls in your lap. KMBC’s Brenda Washington proved that a few days ago when a man accidentally proposed to his girlfriend in the background of Washington’s live shot at KCI. Washington was reporting on the rather bland subject of the cost of healthy eating and went to the airport to do a few person-on-the-street interviews. Then Josh Mullin — oblivious — dropped to a knee and proposed to his girlfriend, Ashley Baldwin. Aww!

Washington’s photographer picked up on Mullin’s question popping. Washington quickly wrapped up her piece and coaxed the giddy couple in front of the camera for an impromptu interview. Sure beats a story about the of expense of healthy eating.
