Here’s a gut check: Our collective crap could cost us more than $3.5 billion. After years of paving, flushing and letting problems fester underground, Kansas City’s sewer system needs a massive overhaul. Get a glimpse of what kind of pollution is oozing through those pipes and what happens when those toxins aren’t properly contained during a free screening of Crapshoot: The Gamble With Our Wastes tonight at 7 at All Souls Unitarian Universalist Church (4501 Walnut). This 2003 documentary exposes the dirty underbelly of cities worldwide and explores how we might improve our disposal habits. Don’t lose your dinner directly after the screening, though, because Kansas City Councilwoman Jan Marcason will discuss what’s going on at City Hall to address the local problem.
