Grizzly Bear’s Chris Taylor on his new solo project, CANT

Chris Taylor is best known as the bass player for the Brooklyn indie quartet Grizzly Bear. He’s also produced the band’s albums Yellow House and Veckatimest, as well as the Friend EP. Recently, Taylor released his first solo album, Dreams Come True, on Warp/Terrible. Performing under the aegis CANT, Taylor moves away from the layered sounds of Grizzly Bear, and into a space that’s sparser and more spacious. CANT appears at the Bottleneck this Friday, October 14, with openers Mirror Mirror and Blood Orange. We spoke with Taylor by phone about the particulars of his solo work.
