In April, we found out that Stretch was expanding his Grinders empire to Leavenworth, Kansas, taking over the High Noon Saloon. We now have an opening date: Wednesday, October 28.

Grinders High Noon (206 Choctaw, Leavenworth) will be Stretch’s fourth restaurant, following two locations on 18th Street in the Crossroads Arts District and one in Lenexa.

According to a press statement, Grinders High Noon’s microbrewery remains, but the kitchen has undergone “a complete remodel and redesign,” with the addition of an open-air pizza prep station. Local art will also be part of the decor. A retired DC-9 tail-elevator has become the bar top, and vintage Union railroad station coffee urns are now beer taps.

Stretch worked with former Kansas City Chief Bill Maas in acquiring the property last spring.
