Greg Carroll steps down as CEO of American Jazz Museum

In a press release today, the American Jazz Museum confirms the recent speculation surrounding its CEO, Greg Caroll. After eight years in the position, Carroll will step down. According to the press release, the AJM is currently developing a plan for interim leadership as it begins a national search for Carroll’s replacement — whom it hopes to have in place by the end of the year.
From the press release:
“Given the depth and diversity of our operations, and all that Greg has accomplished,” Runnion explained, “we feel an appropriate next step is to consider the organizational capacity of the museum to allow a new CEO to continue an important role of building relationships in our community and nationally.”
“I am extremely grateful to have had the opportunity to work with so many talented, dedicated, and passionate people here in Kansas City associated with the American Jazz Museum” said Greg Carroll. “Together we have truly moved the needle forward in the spirit of Kansas City’s cultural heritage – jazz! My wife Doris and I look forward to the next chapter in our journey and will remain supportive of this great music. Doris and I truly appreciate the friendships and professional relationships we have forged with so many of you and look forward to continuing those relationships going forward.”
