Gospel For Your Health

No one knows for sure what Jesus would do, but surely he would endorse the Power to End Stroke initiative, the American Stroke Association’s campaign to raise stroke awareness in the black community. Most likely, he would advise those at risk for strokes (the third leading killer of all Americans) to visit the health fair at the Kansas City Power to End Stroke Gospel Tour today at Victorious Life Church (3400 Paseo, 816-561-3619). Starting at 4 p.m., health professionals answer questions (privately, if requested) and conduct glucose, body mass index, and blood pressure screenings. Those who want to educate themselves will get free admittance to another round of lifesaving messages by way of a 6:30 p.m gospel concert from Grammy winner Smokie Norful, saxophonist Vernard Johnson and rapper Big 7. The event is free. See heart.org/kcgospeltour for more information.
