Google says it may hire two or three people as it hot-wires KCK

Google is bringing super-speed broadband to Kansas City, Kansas. Exciting news! But the company that operates the world’s most popular search engine is not going to leave much of a footprint as it connects KCK to a network that moves data at speeds 100 times faster than traditional broadband.

Matt Dunne, Google’s head of community affairs, tried to manage expectations during a town-hall meeting on Wednesday. Disappointing property owners and job seekers, Dunne said Google may not lease an office, and its local work force will likely number only two or three people.
