Giant snow dinosaur rests outside house behind the Loretto

Check out Danny
J. Gibson‘s latest snow creation. Every year, Gibson, also known around KC as DJG, creates awesome snow beasts in his yard at the intersection of West 40th and Holly (right behind the Loretto on 39th Street). He was cool enough to send along photos of his latest, which took three hours to sculpt.
“This past Saturday afternoon the snow/temperature was ripe for making
creatures,” Gibson tells me via e-mail. “The last couple of years I’ve made snow dinos/lizards, so
it just felt natural and I wanted to do a big, upright dino with his
mouth open to catch snowflakes or to eat the neighborhood. And I’m
fortunate to have the Loretto on 39th Street as a backdrop for snow
creatures to interact with.” After the jump, more shots
of DJG’s latest snow beast.
