The nationwide feel-good for good film festival is returning to Screenland Armour Theatre for the sixth year in a row this August. Cat Video Fest 2024 brings a whole new compilation of our favorite, mischievous little guys to Kansas City.

Not only will there be over an hour of big stretches, playful mishaps, and knocking everything off bookshelves, but 50% of the proceeds made at Screenland Armour will go to the KC Pet Project

“It’s something that I look forward to every year because you don’t get a lot of pure joy at the movies. Being able to watch these movies with a bunch of other people who also enjoy what you like for a good cause is kind of the best-case scenario,” Screenland Armour Owner Adam Roberts says.

Fans self-submit their own silly or cute pet moments for the fest, which makes their authentic moments all the more wholesome to watch. “It’s kind of like America’s Home Videos, but just for cats, which is all I ever want to watch,” Roberts says.

The event is a great family-friendly activity for all pet lovers, and it’s a way to help animals right here in KC.

KC Pet Project is one of the main animal shelters in Kansas City, and their kennels are often overbooked. “It is always shocking whenever they break their own numbers,” says Roberts. “If I could adopt them all, I probably would, but I have too many animals as it is.”

The KC Pet Project does a great deal of work to house and care for the strays or rescues in the area, but these good deeds are, unfortunately, not cheap. “We’re just trying to do our part and find good home for kitties and keep the ones that are in there healthy and happy,” Roberts says.

Having raised an impressive $170,000 for charities across the country since 2019, producer Will Braden and the production company Oscilloscope Laboratories expect to sell 183,300 tickets this year. To get your tickets, check out Screenland Armour Theatre’s website for shows on August 3, 4, and 7. This show is a popular one, so be sure to check that they aren’t already sold out.
