George and Ann Taylor, Woodbridge Lane assault victims, have reportedly died

The KCMO police department today announced that Ann Taylor, who was assaulted as part of last week’s horrifying violence on Woodbridge Lane in south Kansas City, has died after being taken off life support. Fox 4 is now reporting that her husband, George, who was also assaulted, has also been removed from life support.
The Taylors’ deaths bring the tally to five. The other victims were 69-year-old Susan Choucroun, 88-year-old Lorene Hurst and her son, 63-year-old Darrel Hurst.
Brandon Howell, 34, has so far been charged with three counts of first-degree murder; four counts of armed criminal action; two counts of first-degree assault; and one count each of first-degree burglary, first-offense stealing of a motor vehicle, and unlawful possession of a firearm. Presumably, Howell will now be charged with two more murders, for a total of five. No clear motive has been established in the killings.
Howell’s next court appearance is set for September 25. He’s being held without bond. Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker has indicated that she may seek the death penalty in the case.
