Geek out

Many people think that once they leave high school, worlds of new opportunity and acceptance will open before them. Sadly, these nerds have spent years avoiding human interaction and lack the skills necessary to maintain even the most rudimentary exchanges. But there’s hope yet for these pale man-children. Nerd samaritans Astrokitty Comics and Game Guy are throwing a Super-Nerd Night, where those of legal age can enjoy geeky drinks, play old video games, relax in a video-game lounge, and watch anime and other cartoon stuff with those who share the same interests. All-ages socially awkward revelry goes from 7 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. at the Jackpot Music Hall (943 Massachusetts, in Lawrence). Cover is $3. See thejackpotsaloon.com.
