Gangstagrass’ ‘Long Hard Times to Come’ is your Folk Alliance International Song of the Day

The International Folk Alliance Conference & Winter Music Camp comes to KC February 19-23. To get you geared up for the folk blowout, every day we’re posting a song we like by one of the event’s showcase artists. 

Bluegrass and hip-hop together in the same song sounds about as promising as a visit to the dentist, but New York City’s Ganstagrass has been meshing the two genres for nearly a decade. It wasn’t until the band’s song “Long Hard Times to Come” was featured as the theme song on FX’s Justified that the greater music-listening population realized the brilliance that is Ganstagrass.
