Gang of Four’s new album funded by fans, vials of human blood

Influential post-punk act Gang of Four opportunistically reunited in 2004, shortly after every new band in the entire world started writing Gang of Four knockoffs and name-checking them as a major influence.
On January 25, 2011, GO4 — which is currently singer Jon King and guitarist Andy Gill, plus replacements on drums and bass — will release Content, its first LP of new material in 16 years, on Yep Roc. The album was paid for via Pledge Music, a fundraising site through which GO4 fans bought helicopter rides and vials of blood of band members.
