F-Stop Rocks

Do people go to shows anymore? Of course — well, sometimes. In Kansas City, your band can pack out the club one weekend, then the next weekend … crickets. Though crowds are nice, they may no longer be the best indicator of your band’s cachet. What is? Photographers, babe. If you’ve got more shutterbugs with detachable lenses snapping away at your feet than people who have come merely to hear you sing, don’t fret — you’ve made it!

But in all seriousness, this year saw a notable increase in cameras at concerts, and damn if we at The Pitch didn’t take advantage of the talents of our local paparazzi. Of the many keen-eyed photographers in our employ, no one followed the KC music scene more closely or captured it more brilliantly than our dear old Forester Michael. Here’s a look back through his lens on the spectacle that was 2008.
