And once again, we bring you Friday Freebies, wherein we present things to do this weekend that won’t cost you any more than the gas it takes to get to ’em.

Tonight, at Signs of Life in Lawrence, you can hear the Christian pop-rock stylings of Jeannie Furst & Furst Light. The show starts at 7:30 p.m., and the band sounds like 10000 Maniacs — well, if Nataltie Merchant really loved Jesus.

In Kansas City tonight, there’s The First Noel at the VALA Gallery. The exhibition is 50+ pictures of the same life-drawing model, Noel. The reception starts at 6:30 p.m., and will also have music by the Arethusa String Quartet (a string quartet of Olathe High School students) and 8 Miles Down.

Saturday, from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., at the Lawrence Knights of Columbuis Hall will be Lawrence Farmers’ Holiday Market. It’s your last chance for the forseeable future to buy meats, homemade pies, and the like from the growers and vendors of the area.

Saturday night is the opening reception for Kendra Marable‘s “What Remains to be Seen.” It’s a series of mixed media works, and Marable’s artist statement says that “All objects have a history…Is anyone, anywhere, missing them?” Intriguing, no? It all goes down at Wonder Fair in Lawrence at 6:00 p.m.

Sunday, all you need to know is that it’s the annual Hooligan Christmas Party. Rico’s bash is the event of the season, and all you 21-and-uppers need to get in is formal attire (no, that tuxedo t-shirt won’t work). Folks ages 18-20 can pay ten bucks. It’s at the Beaumont, and starts at 9:00 p.m.
