Friday concert announcement roundup: Def Leppard with Poison, Steve Martin and Martin Short, Mastodon with Eagles of Death Metal
A few announcements are rolling in this morning that are unrelated to ice or the Chiefs, including a few upcoming shows. First, Def Leppard is coming to the Sprint Center on June 21, along with the original members of Poison (Bret Michaels, CC DeVille, Bobby Dall and Rikki Rockett). Tickets for this ’80s bonanza/mess go on sale at noon Friday, January 20, via LiveNation’s website. The crowd should be fun at this one.

If you missed your chance to see Steve Martin with Martin Short last fall at the Midland, you have another opportunity to see the two comedy legends. They’re returning to the much larger Starlight Theatre July 21 for “An Evening You Will Forget for the Rest of Your Lives.” The two will perform with the Steep Canyon Rangers (the North Carolina bluegrass band that Martin often performs with) and musician Jeff Babko. Tickets go on sale also at 10 a.m. next Friday, via Starlight’s website. This was a pricey ticket at the Midland, so it will be interesting to see if the Starlight show follows suit.

And finally, a show for the Uptown, a stacked metal booking: Mastodon is coming April 26 along with Eagles of Death Metal and Russian Circles. Tickets start at $32.50; they’re on sale today via Ticketmaster.
