French Quarter, ALAK, Pregnant and more, weird as hell at the Firehouse on Saturday

  • ALAK

Saturday around midnight, locals the Fine Hoods were playing the second floor of the Firehouse, when two, three, and then five KCPD radio cars pulled up outside. The Fine Hoods kept on playing their galvanizing version of new wave. We eventually saw flashlights tracking down the hall to the second floor of the venue. The four officers didn’t step more than a foot in, all crowded in the doorway, as if pinned back by the Fine Hoods’ static. After about a song, they questioned the hosts about the Firehouse’s property licensing, did nothing for about a half-hour and then left, letting the show go on. I could have sworn the music was somehow keeping them there.
