Four Loko and other caffeinated alcoholic beverages banned in Kansas

Four Loko is officially outlawed in the state of Kansas. The Kansas Department of Revenue issued a release this afternoon saying Four Loko, Four Maxed, Joose and max are no longer legal to sell in the Sunflower State, according to the University Daily Kansan.

Last week, the Food and Drug Administration deemed caffeine an “unsafe food additive” for alcoholic

beverages and sent warning letters to the companies that manufacture “blackout in a can,” telling them to get the drinks off store shelves.
