Four Inane Questions with KCShirts.com Founder Stacy Dalton
When it comes to showing off Kansas City pride, Stacy Dalton has your back. And your front. And your head. And pretty much any other body part that needs representation.
As the founder (and marketing wunderkind) of KCShirts.com, Dalton has been creating a treasure trove of custom tees, sports gear, drinking shirts, and holiday swag for more than a decade. Her goal, you ask? To make locals (and fans nationwide) smile, laugh, and sometimes even do a double-take.
Whether you’re cheering on the Chiefs, firing up the grill, or dominating the upcoming holiday party scene, Dalton’s designs let you wear your KC spirit loud and proud—from baby onesies to adult 5XL (uh, and up).
While she ships nationwide, she says her roots are firmly planted in the metro. “I pair my clever style with top-notch customer service, making sure everyone can rep the city in comfort and humor,” she says.
And here’s the fun part: You know all those weird, messy, hilarious life moments? Dalton probably has a T-shirt for that. From corporate orders to casual game-day gear, she’s ready, willing, and able to help you put a little KC flair into every wardrobe—and then some.
Just as football season kicks off, we caught up with KC’s resident T-shirt maven to zing her with our ridiculous questionnaire. Talk about multitasking—She created fourteen new designs while cranking out her answers. Bless.
The Pitch: What cartoon character should come to life?
Stacy Dalton: I think the entire cast of South Park would make an absolutely wild comedy troupe. Picture it: Cartman, Stan, Kyle, and Kenny—along with the endless parade of side characters—all thrown into a comedy sports-style improv show.
Each scene would be a new level of chaos as they ad-lib their way through ridiculous scenarios, bouncing off one another with that raw, unfiltered energy that makes the show so iconic.
If you were a bug, what kind of bug would you be?
I think I’d like to be a colorful butterfly. They don’t bother anyone and go through life without any complicated problems to solve. Just the simple goal of finding a good spot in the sun and the next flower to land on. The bright colors aren’t just for looks; they’re for making a statement as you float by. It’s a short, fast-paced existence where you just do your own thing and don’t have to worry about a thing.
You’re making a milkshake called The Dalton. What’s in it?
Okay, The Dalton would be a classic with a twist. We start with a rich, creamy vanilla ice cream base, then swirl in a generous amount of thick, homemade salted caramel. The perfect balance of sweet and salty makes it a real showstopper.
Oh, and for the after-hours experience, we add a shot of Baileys Salted Caramel Liqueur, giving it a smooth, boozy kick that’s impossible to resist!
You can resurrect any sitcom cast for a one-time TV reunion. Who are you gettin’ together?
I wouldn’t pick a traditional sitcom. I’d go with Saturday Night Live. Imagine blending legends like John Belushi, Jane Curtin, Dan Aykroyd, Phil Hartman, Gilda Radner, and Father Guido Sarducci with later icons like Will Ferrell, Jason Sudeikis, Paul Rudd (shoutout to my fellow Vikings), and Heidi Gardner.
The mix of old-school brilliance and modern energy would be electric. You’d get the sharp wit of the originals, the physical comedy of Belushi and Ferrell, and the deadpan delivery of Curtin alongside the quirky, offbeat timing of Radner and Gardner. It wouldn’t just be a reunion; it would be a once-in-a-lifetime comedy event that bridges generations of humor in a way only SNL could pull off.
