Former El Patron owner pleads pretty far down on rape charges
In early 2017, Arturo Cabral, the former owner of El Patron Cocina and Bar, on Southwest Boulevard, was charged with three counts of rape. One woman claimed to have been drugged by Cabral on the Country Club Plaza in 2015. Another had three drinks and blacked out at Cabral’s apartment; she woke up to find him penetrating her. Police later matched Cabral’s DNA to DNA found on one of the victims. He was arrested, and his bond was set at half a million dollars.
On Wednesday, Cabral was allowed to plea down from those rape charges, pleading guilty only to felonious restraint and attempted felonious restraint. He was sentenced to ten years in prison, with credit for time already served.
Seems kinda light!
