• Snake Saturday Parade and Family Fun Festival: Chances are, there were no snakes in postglacial Ireland around 400 A.D. However, for the 26th year, North Kansas City commemorates St. Patrick’s ousting of the reptiles from Emerald Isle with a parade beginning at 11 a.m. sharp at 14th and Swift, ending just past 18th Avenue on Howell Street. In a happy coincidence, the North Kansas City Missouri State BBQ Championship takes place in the area at the same time.
