Flier of the Week: 3 Bad Jacks at the Replay, July 13

Usually, I try and post a flier for a show that’s upcoming, but I didn’t discover this one until the day of the show. Forgive me for sleeping on the coolness. It was designed by Jud of Killer Kite Productions, and it’s rock ‘n’ roll as all hell.
Southern California’s 3 Bad Jacks played a Sunday matinee on the Replay patio this past Sunday with Kansas City’s Them Damned Young Livers and Lawrence’s the F-Holes.
I’d spent the day cleaning bakery equipment, and ended up feeling like I’d been worked over with a tire iron, so I missed what was probably Lawrence’s best (if not only) rockabilly show of the summer. My buddy Jason Meier attended, and his comments ought to be enough to make all of who didn’t attend wish they had:
Too bad you didn’t make it to the Replay show, dude. Three Bad Jacks are the best Psychobilly band I’ve seen in a really long time. The Rev. Horton Heat and The Living End are probably the only ones I’ve seen that are better, but not by much. Don’t ever miss them again.
Thankfully, we get the Rev, a couple times this year, and his show next Friday looks to be Kansas City’s best rockabilly show of the year. Openers like the Rumblejetts and Nekromantix? Hell, yes, son.
And it’s outside at the Crossroads, too. Why is it that rockabilly just sounds better outside with a beer in your hand? Consider it a second chance to get some fresh air and twangy sounds.
