Fleet Foxes debut new track, auction off advance album for Japan

Yesterday Zane Lowe of BBC Radio 1 unveiled a new Fleet Foxes track, “Battery Kinzie,” which is part of their forthcoming sophomore album, Helplessness Blues, out May 3 on SubPop.

The track is trademark Foxes: upbeat, orchestral indie-pop meets country, which clouds poetic, melancholy lyrics. You can listen to the broadcast of the new track after the jump. But if you can’t wait another month to hear the whole album, they’re offering an advanced test pressing in an online eBay auction for disaster relief in Japan — and so far it’s only up to $2,000!
