Five-year-old girl accused of drowning her 18-month-old cousin for crying too much (updated)

UPDATE (June 10): Prosecutors told KCTV5 that the 5-year-old girl accused of drowning her 18-month-old cousin, Jermane Johnson Jr., won’t likely be certified as an adult for prosecution. Johnson’s funeral is Monday in St. Louis.

Original Story (June 9): Might as well start off with the worst news of the day. A 5-year-old girl is suspected of drowning her 18-month-old cousin in a bathtub for crying, Fox 4 reported.

The boy, Jermane Johnson Jr., was staying with relatives at 26th and Elmwood on June 3. He and the girl were being watched by a 16-year-old girl, who was sleeping at the time of the drowning. If the story isn’t messed up enough, there’s more.
