Filipino food truck going brick-and-mortar, will open in former West Bottoms Kitchen space this weekend
Her food truck will continue to operate out in the wilds of Kansas City, but as of noon this Saturday, November 17, Chrissy Nucum’s Filipino cuisine will be available in a permanent location, at 1623 Genessee — the former home of West Bottoms Kitchen. KC Pinoy will be offering lunch and dinner service there four days a week, from Wednesday through Saturday. (This Saturday is a soft-ish opening.)
Nucum, who was born and raised in the Philippines, says she hopes her restaurant will “show people what it feels like to eat in a Filipino home.” Items on the menu include chicken adobo, pork tocino, and Lagang Baka, a beef stew. They’ll also be serving cocktails.
