FIELD OF DREAMGIRLS

On the “Is there anything sexier than … ?” shortlist, we humbly nominate Geena Davis in catcher’s gear. Face it: If the Oscar-winning glamazon were flashing signs to Greinke, Meche and Bannister, there’d be a hell of a lot more of us packing the K during home stands (sorry, Miguel). Until the gender barrier is broken in the majors, though, we’ll just have to settle for repeat viewings of Penny Marshall’s paean to World War II-era women’s baseball, A League of Their Own, which also features the comedic and/or athletic talents of Tom Hanks, Lori Petty, Rosie O’Donnell and Madonna. As part of the “Fridays at the Museum” summer series, the film screens tonight at 7 at the Kansas City Museum at Corinthian Hall (3218 Gladstone Boulevard, 816-483-8300). Bring the whole family. Popcorn, refreshments and admission are free. But remember: no crying.
