Fete Accompli

In a fundraiser for its International Center for Music, Park University presents a charming throwback to the golden days of the variety show, wherein assorted musical styles share the billing for an evening of entertainment that covers the waterfront. The evening, titled Fête, presents world-renowned pianist Stanislav Ioudenitch and his protégé Behzod Abduraimov, as well as distinguished violinist Ben Sayevich and Tchaikovsky International Competition silver-medal-winning cellist Daniel Veis, all performing selections from Carmen and Faust. Are you doing the math? That’s four pianists, going at once. Three words: tour de force. But that’s not all. The 7:30 p.m. program at the Folly Theater (300 West 12th Street, 816-584-6825) rounds out with jazz standards and Astor Piazzolla tangos by Kansas City guitarist Beau Bledsoe and Argentine bandoneónist Héctor Del Curto. Tickets cost $30.
