Feds investigating Tiller’s murder
Here’s a snip from the Associated Press story:
“The Department of Justice will
work tirelessly to determine the full involvement of any and all actors
in this horrible crime,” said Loretta King, head of the department’s
civil rights division.
Anyone who played a role in the killing, she said, will be prosecuted “to the full extent of federal law.”
However, with a vast network of anti-abortion groups, some of them
militant, who knows where the Justice Department’s investigation will
lead. We wonder whether one target of the investigation might be Cheryl Sullenger, senior policy adviser for anti-abortion group Operation Rescue. As we first reported, authorities found a phone number for Sullenger in Roeder’s car after he was arrested. Roeder has since been charged with first-degree murder and two counts of armed criminal action.
Sullenger was convicted in 1988 for plotting to bomb a California abortion clinic. She spoke with The Pitch and denied any recent conversations with Roeder but admitted to The Kansas City Star that she helped Roeder track Tiller’s court hearings. Operation Rescue has condemned Tiller’s killing and claims no affiliation to Roeder.
