Federal raid shuts down Lawrence shop that sells K2

Lawrence store the Sacred Journey was closed today after U.S. Food and Drug Administration agents raided the business with the help of Johnson County Sheriff’s officers and Lawrence police.

Lawrence and Johnson County law enforcement officers referred The Pitch to the U.S. Attorney’s Office when asked about the raid. Officials with the U.S. Attorney’s Office refused to confirm or deny an investigation.

The shop is owned by Natalie McAnulla, who is currently in New York. Her attorney, John Knox, said McAnulla told him that her business accounts had been frozen following the raid.

“From what I was told, the warrant says they are suspected of selling illegal drugs,” Knox told The Pitch. “The agents seized various things, including an inventory list, and going into the safe. The officers also told employees they were possibly taxing some of the things they were selling, and considering charging Natalie criminally.
