Eyes turn to KC as ‘Christmas morning’ draws nigh

As the NFL Draft approaches, the football world turns its attention to Kansas City.
By virtue of last season’s cruddiness, the Chiefs have the third pick in Saturday’s draft. Also, new GM Scott Pioli last worked for the New England Patriots, a team that liked to wheel and deal on draft weekend.
With those factors in mind, the league’s media circus is making plans to converge on Kansas City. Peter King, Sports Illustrated‘s top NFL writer, says in his column this morning that he plans to arrive in KC on Thursday, after spending a few days in St. Louis.
It should be a fun week. Pioli recently compared the excitement of draft day to Christmas morning, a sentiment many football fans share. And this year, Chiefs fans won’t be subjected to Carl Peterson’s selections and justifications thereof!
