Eyes of the Betrayer

“Play everything,” demands MySpace user Mr. Screwjack, voicing the prevailing fan demand for Eyes of the Betrayer‘s reunion show set list. Sadly for Mr. Screwjack and his ilk, EOTB won’t be emptying its discography. “Some jerk-off friends of ours keep saying ‘Stars Throw Spears,’ which is a song we never even played since I was in the band,” singer Dustin Albright says. “A lot of the new stuff, they don’t seem to care about. And neither do we, so that works out.” Two crowd favorites that have made the cut: the thrash epic “Apostate” and “Praise Carcinoma,” a song, Albright says, about “slaying dragons and eating shit.” EOTB will tape this performance for a DVD release in order to document the culmination of the group’s degradation. “When we started this band, we were fit, happy and excited about life,” Albright says. “Now we’re fat, jaded and hate everything.” Fortunately, that’s the perfect metal mindset.
