Expectations For MLB All-Star Game Ticket Prices

Each year baseball fans are treated to the “midsummer classic” that is the MLB All-Star Game. This year the All-Star Game will take place at Target Field the home of the Minnesota Twins on July 15th. The annual All-Star Game is presently just 85 days away from now and always offers a ton of activities for fans outside of the game itself.

It has been no secret that the 2014 season will be perennial All-Star and future first ballot Hall of Fame SS Derek Jeter’s final season after a stellar 20 year career. Regardless of how he plays this season it is all but a certainty that Jeter will be voted in as the starter at shortstop to honor him and his illustrious career with some sort of pregame ceremony to accompany his ninth All-Star start, the third most of All-Time. Aside from Jeter, current projection have three Kansas City Royals making it onto the 2014 All-Star roster which included OF Alex Gordon, RP Greg Holland and C Salvador Perez.

This season MLB All-Star Game tickets are averaging the highest they ever have, clocking in at the pricey average of $1,236 each. This is significantly higher than previous All-Star Game tickets which went for an average of $883 for last years midsummer classic at Citi Field in New York City. In fact over the past four seasons the All-Star Game has averaged just about half of what it does this year going for an average of $675 over that time. While the 2014 All-Star Game is amongst the most expensive tickets of the year you can still find some tickets that are going for well below its average on the secondary market. Baseball fans looking to Get-in to the game will find tickets going for as low as $388 still higher than the average ticket price of the 2011 All-Star Game at Chase Field but a far cry from this years average of $1,236
