Exclusive! Get in free to She Wants Revenge this Saturday!

L.A. dance overlords She Wants Revenge are coming to the Bottleneck this Saturday, October 3, and we’d like nothing more than to send you and a guest to see ’em for free.

All you have to do is riddle us this: Who is “she” and why does she want revenge?

E-mail your answer to jason.harper@pitch.com, subject: SWR, or post it in the comments section below before 2 p.m. on Friday, October 2. (If you post a comment, be sure to fill in your e-mail address.) There’s no right or wrong answer. Get funny. Get conceptual. Get … freaky. The person with the best answer as chosen by us gets in free with a guest to the show on Saturday, which features openers Kill Hannah and the Tender Box.

It’s hard to believe it’s been over three years since SWR’s hit “Tear You Apart” rocked clubs and airwaves with its driving beats, drippy bass and Justin Warfield’s sinister, Ian Curtis-inspired monotone. Following the success of She Wants Revenge, in 2007, Warfield and his partner in crime, “Adam 12” Bravin, dropped their second album, This Is Forever, which further deepened and defined the group’s dark-wave sound.

Now, it seems, the group has gone back to its early, hip-hop/dance roots, laying aside the guitars and doom and focusing on aurally seductive beats and sweet, melodic hooks. In fact, the new single off the group’s latest EP, Up and Down, is a big, glitter-coated chunk of bootycake. Download it for free, and make sure you’re standing up, ’cause you’re gonna wanna move.

With Girl Talk tonight, Moby on Friday and this show on Saturday (not to mention our great local DJs keeping it real in the clubs) even people who stay in this weekend will be dancing.
