Ex-Chief Baldinger charged in wreck that killed a Grain Valley woman

Former Kansas City Chief offensive lineman Rich Baldinger is in trouble with the law. Jackson County prosecutors charged Baldinger with a misdemeanor traffic violation with a really long name (operating a motor vehicle in a careless and imprudement manner involving an accident) in a late-June crash that killed a Grain Valley woman.

The 49-year-old Baldinger, who played for the Chiefs from 1983-92, reportedly crashed his Dodge into a Saturn at the intersection of

Bowlin Road and Highway 40 in eastern Jackson County on June 27. The crash killed 61-year-old Marilyn Walters, who was a passenger in the Saturn.

The Star says Baldinger could get jail time or a fine.
