Everett Dennis charged in gunfight near daycare at 38th and Troost

One person has been charged in Wednesday’s gunfight near a day-care center at 38th and Troost. Everett Dennis, 21, is charged with two counts of first-degree

assault, two counts of third-degree assault, and two counts of armed

criminal action.

Dennis, who apparently goes by the name “Too Tall,” was allegedly approached by two men. One of the men asked Dennis why he was telling people that he was going to kill him. Not exactly sure what the answer was, but a witness says Dennis pulled a gun from his waistband, walked toward the two men and opened fire.
