Even Bob Vila Would Need Some Help On This One

If you think your home-remodeling projects are costly and endless, prepare to be humbled by the renovation of the Kansas City Museum’s Corinthian Hall. The 100-year-old private mansion turned museum is in the third phase of a restoration process. The point is to strip away layers of non-original materials and clean and restore original elements, such as nearly 60 pieces of once-brilliant stained glass. When the museum renewal is complete, visitors will more accurately see what life was like for Kansas City’s R.A. Long family in the early 20th century. Luckily, museum patrons need not wait for the project’s conclusion for a peek. Museum Director Christopher Leitch leads a Hard Hat Happy Hour Tour from 5 to 7 p.m.The $5 admission includes a glass of wine. The Kansas City Museum is located at 3218 Gladstone Boulevard.
