Esquire profiles group of survivors who sought shelter in a cooler during the May tornado that wiped out Joplin

A few days ago, Esquire posted the harrowing story of a group of survivors from the May 22 tornado that destroyed Joplin and killed 160. This group of mostly strangers were brought together that day at a Fastrip convenience store and sought shelter in a beer cooler. The video above was shot by Isaac Duncan inside the cooler.

The story is brilliant, must-read journalism. Me telling you about it won’t do it justice. Click here to read it.
